Lachey, Simpson have awkward encounter

Pop stars Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson have had an uncomfortable meeting at an LA club.

The former Newlyweds were both out partying at Hollywood hotspot Hyde. However, TeenHollywood reports that while Simpson was with her hairdresser friend Ken Paves, Lachey had new girlfriend MTV host Vanessa Minnillo on his arm.

A source told columnist Perez Hilton: "Nick walked over to Jessica's table, gave her a hug and said hello to her and Ken Paves. It wasn't the most comfortable situation, but it was totally civil and everyone was cool and Jessica was nice."

However, Minnillo stayed away from the Dukes of Hazzard star.
