Kate Hudson has won her libel case against a publication that falsely accused her of having an eating disorder.

The toned actress was described as "painfully thin" by the British National Enquirer last year, which also claimed that her mother Goldie Hawn had had to beg her to eat more.

However, the You, Me and Dupree star has now been granted an apology and awarded an undisclosed sum for any distress the article caused.

According to WENN, her lawyer Simon Smith told the High Court in London that Hudson opposed all the claims. He added: "Ms. Hawn has explained to me that she never had any concerns about her daughter's appearance whatsoever."

After the judgement, the 27-year old said: "The allegations that I sued over were blatantly false. I could not stand by while such lies were being perpetrated about me."
