Andrea Roth 'scaled down wedding for mother'

Andrea Roth has opened up about why she decided to scale down her wedding to producer Todd Biermann.

The Rescue Me star revealed that she elected to cancel her big wedding in the Dominican Republic after learning that her mother had been diagnosed with cancer.

"My mother, Jane, was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer in January of this year," Roth told People. "She was very weak, so we planned our wedding in three weeks near my parents' house."

12 people attended the couple's ceremony and reception in Ontario, Canada.

Roth went on to reveal that her daughter Ava participated in the service.

"Ava got scared, so she walked down the aisle with me," the actress said. "Then, pretty much the whole time we were doing vows, Ava had to be in my arms.

She continued: "When she got tired, she fell asleep in Todd's arms right at the end of the ceremony."

Roth recently won a recurring role on Ringer, playing Catherine, the oft-mentioned ex-wife of Andrew (Ioan Gruffudd) and mother of Juliet (Zoey Deutch).
