Freida Pinto: 'No-one understands me like Dev Patel'

Freida Pinto has said that long-time boyfriend Dev Patel knows her better than anyone else.

The Immortals actress revealed that she and Patel have an understanding of one another as they rose to fame at the same time and shared the same experiences while seeking showbiz success.

"I sound like a broken record saying this but no-one else understands what we actually went through except the two of us because we went sailing in the same boat," Pinto explained to Parade.

"I guess when we talk about the future and the next steps, like the next film or the next project, we both know how completely far we've come in terms of being the nervous person that I was in 2008.

"I want to listen to what his opinion is, he wants to listen to what my opinion is. I think that kind of understanding comes from knowing someone that well."

Pinto recently denied rumours that she and Patel are engaged and plan to marry in the near future.

She has previously described their relationship as an "amazing journey" which has taught her a lot.
