Giovanni Palumbo was jailed in March after he broke a restraining order by showing up at the Juno Awards, where Twain was accepting a lifetime achievement prize.
Palumbo had been warned to stay away from her when he previously sent her a series of love letters and attended Twain's grandmother's funeral without an invitation.
In September, Palumbo agreed to plead guilty to failing to comply with a court order and one count of criminal harassment.
A judge released Palumbo from jail on Tuesday on time served, but also said that he must complete three years of probation, reports CTV.
In order to stay out of jail, Palumbo must also refrain from contacting Twain and continue counselling sessions.
Twain has previously said that she has compassion for Palumbo, but is also very frightened by his intrusions into her life.
