Simon Cowell is being backed by bookmakers to overtake Piers Morgan's Twitter follower count by the end of 2011.
Cowell joined Twitter for the first time yesterday (November 16) and immediately began mocking Morgan, taunting: "Look up the word deluded in your dictionary."

Morgan currently has 1,471,288 followers, but Cowell already has nearly 200,000 after only six tweets.
A Ladbrokes rep said: "We expect Cowell to humiliate Morgan. We don't give Piers a chance."
Cowell is 1/3 to be ahead in followers by the end of the year. Punters can also back the X Factor star to be the most-followed person on Twitter by the end of 2012 at 12/1.
The reality TV mogul has used Twitter heavily on X Factor USA, encouraging the finalists to use verified accounts and allowing fans to vote via on the show via the direct message service on the social networking site.
