'X Factor' Kelly Rowland wants Christmas reunion with father

X Factor judge Kelly Rowland has reportedly claimed that she would like to reconcile with her estranged father.

The Destiny's Child singer has said that she is ready to meet with Christopher Rowland this Christmas, 23 years after he disappeared from her life when her parents' marriage broke down.

Rowland's desire for a reunion is said to have come after the mother of her X Factor contestant Misha B, who gave up the 19-year-old as a baby while she battled a heroin addiction, got back in touch.

In scenes set to air on The X Factor tomorrow (November 19), Rowland says: "It's really important just to forgive my father. I want to meet him this Christmas, because now is the time, because tomorrow's not promised to us.

"I think it's important to forgive people and we move on, we have to. The pain is there, of course it will be there, and it's important to know that forgiveness is the first step towards healing it all."

Rowland stated last month that she was happy to see her father, despite being disappointed by his very public attempt to reach out to her.

"I want to meet him, and soon, I really do," she said at the time. "I forgave him a long time ago."

The X Factor continues Saturday at 8.15pm on ITV1.
