'Twilight' Nikki Reed: 'I don't want to have kids for a while'

Nikki Reed has confessed that she is not ready to start a family.

The Twilight actress, who married former American Idol contestant Paul McDonald in a private ceremony last month, revealed that she feels too young to have children and has other things she wants to accomplish first.

"I'm not getting pregnant for a long time. One day [I want to], it's just not what I'm thinking about right now, but I do. I'm young; he's young [and] we want to be best friends and travel and do stuff," Reed explained to People.

However, Reed added that she and McDonald are enjoying their new roles as husband and wife and are happy with their relationship as it is.

"The first year [of marriage] is not the hardest. Gosh, if this is the hardest, then it's gonna be easy breezy. Even under the most stressful circumstances he and I are such a good team," she said.

Reed previously described her wedding day as "the most magical" of her life.
