Michelle Williams 'almost quit acting'

Michelle Williams has said that she considered quitting acting.

The My Week with Marilyn star revealed that she lost faith in her acting abilities in 2008 shortly after the death of her former boyfriend Heath Ledger.

"I wasn't sure if acting was the right place for me," Williams told The Hollywood Reporter. "Or if I was any good or liked what I was doing anymore."

The actress went on to say that it was only after shooting Blue Valentine that she was able to regain her confidence.

"It brought me back to life and reminded me, brought me back to myself," Williams said.

Williams recently said that she has enjoyed shooting Oz: The Great and Powerful as it allows her to spend more time with daughter Matilda.

Earlier this month, the actress revealed that she has grown fond of her pixie style in spite of the fact that straight men reportedly find the short haircut to be off-putting.

Williams confessed in September that she dreams of quitting acting in favour of leading a normal life.
