The Bridget Jones' Diary actor has teamed up with Oxfam America in an effort to raise funds towards ending poverty via an auction.
The winning bidder will win the chance for him or herself and a friend to meet Firth at the December 6 premiere of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy in Los Angeles, plus tickets to the film's afterparty at the Chateau Marmont hotel.
First has insisted that he personally would not like to meet any of his own idols, telling People: "Every so often, I will meet someone who I greatly admire and get truly dumbstruck.
"I'm a big fan of the people in the world of music and literature. If I'm a big fan of somebody, I prefer to keep at a safe distance because I don't know what I will do."
Firth was recently offered a role in Spike Lee's remake of the 2003 film Oldboy.
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, which topped the box office charts in the UK earlier this year, is released in the US on December 9.
