Matt Dillon gives reasons for Diaz split

Matt Dillon has spoken about the reasons why his relationship with Cameron Diaz failed.
The pair broke up in 1998 after a three year long romance, but the Crash actor has recently looked back and identified her as his first major love.
He told Parade magazine: "I fell in love. It's a very powerful thing when you feel that way about somebody. Cameron was a muse for me. I hadn't been in any deep emotional relationships."
However, the 42-year-old suggested that starting a family was an issue that they could not agree on.
"I sometimes think love is God's way of hoodwinking people into having kids. You fall in love, and all that passion goes into procreating and wanting children. I've felt that need to want to raise a child...I'm open to life now, even to marriage. I'm open to the idea that things will work out."
