Michael Lohan rushed to hospital to undergo heart surgery

Lindsay Lohan's father Michael Lohan has been hospitalised after complaining of chest pains and will undergo surgery on Friday.

Michael, who was arrested last month for harassing his ex-girlfriend, was rushed to hospital from his residential rehab facility in Florida on Thursday after his blood pressure was found to be dangerously high.

TMZ reports that after running multiple tests, Michael was found to need a stent in his heart, a procedure that will be carried out before the weekend.

Michael previously underwent heart surgery in February in order to clear a blockage.

In addition to his harassment case, Michael was also arrested on domestic violence charges after allegedly "battering" ex-girlfriend Kate Major, which led her to seek an order of protection.

Michael has recently said that he hopes daughter Lindsay stays sober and is able to move past her addiction issues.
