Amy Childs: 'I'm nearly a millionaire'

Amy Childs has revealed that she is close to earning her first million.

The former Only Way Is Essex star, who recently opened her own salon, made the cash from her various product lines and reality TV ventures - including a stint on Celebrity Big Brother and new Channel 5 show It's All About Amy.

"Oh my god, it's true, I am not far off becoming a millionaire," she told the Sunday Mirror. "I hate talking about money, but I am doing well. I've got my own clothing line, my own tan and false eyelash range. I've just opened my own beauty salon, and I've got my own TV show.

"It's mad when you think I am severely dyslexic. But my mum and dad were ­determined it wouldn't hold me back. They went without nights out and holidays so I could have private tuition. It gave me the confidence to believe in myself.

"I only got one GCSE, a B for my French, because I could speak it better than I could write it. But when I started ­working in a beauty salon at 15, everyone said I was a natural. If I put my mind to ­something, then I do it."

Childs added that she has gone from earning £20 a day in her first salon job to anything up to £20,000 a day now she's famous.

"Now I am richer than I ever believed, but I will always be Amy Childs from Essex, not Amy Childs the millionaire," she said. "I'll be the same whether Ive got one million or three ­million pounds in the bank."

Childs has named Victoria Beckham and Cheryl Cole as her role models in the past.
