Penn Badgley pinned against fence by Catholic schoolgirls

Penn Badgley - The Gossip Girl hunk will mark his 25th birthday on Tuesday.

Penn Badgley has recalled his scariest fan encounter.

The Gossip Girl star revealed that he was pinned to a fence by 50 Catholic schoolgirls before being rescued by a bodyguard.

"I tried to come down and wasn't able to get to the Met because probably, like, 40 or 50 Catholic schoolgirls all swarmed me and pinned me up against a chain-link fence," Badgley told People.

"At first, it was entertaining," he continued. "And then they started pulling at my clothes and it was a little aggressive. Then I realised I couldn't get out, even though they're all [smaller].

"This bodyguard came out of nowhere, reached out like I was holding on to a rock in raging rapids, and pulled me through it," he finished. "[It] was bizarre."

Badgley recently said that he believes Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) are soul mates on Gossip Girl.

In June, the actor signed on to star as Jeff Buckley in a father-son drama.
