The singer was seen telling guests that she smoked "way too much f**king weed" in a private video obtained by The Daily. She also joked about a Bob Marley-themed birthday cake from her friends in the clip.
A representative for Cyrus said in a statement: "It's all been taken out of context. The cake was a joke and Miley's response was intended to be sarcastic."
Cyrus's friend Kelly Osbourne also explained that the star's friends had begun calling her 'Bob Miley' as a joke after footage of her smoking salvia emerged late last year.
Confirming that the cake was a joke, she tweeted: "it makes me sick that @MileyCyrus so called 'friends' would sell her out and lead people 2 believe she is someone that she is not! (sic)"
