Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard expecting second child

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard are expecting their second child.

The couple will welcome the baby in early 2012, with Gyllenhaal currently four months pregnant, according to US Weekly.

"She'll be laying low for a little bit now," a source told the publication of Gyllenhaal's plans for the near future.

Gyllenhaal and Sarsgaard, who married in Italy in 2009, are already parents to 5-year-old daughter Ramona.

The Away We Go actress previously confessed that she struggles to balance her career and motherhood.

She has said that she feels grateful to have found a good nanny to look after Ramona but initially felt guilty about needing help to raise her daughter.
