
The actress filed for divorce from Kutcher earlier this month after six years of marriage, following allegations that he had been unfaithful.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Moore is in higher spirits in recent weeks and has begun getting back to her old self.
"I do think she's moved on, which I guess I find a bit surprising, but [I'm] happy for her… It's like a huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders. She isn't as tense and clearly unhappy like she was all summer," a source told the publication.
"Demi obviously still has a way to go and still can get a bit weepy from time to time, but she is doing much better than I would have expected at this early stage."
However, the insider was quick to add that Moore will most likely rebound with a new relationship in the near future, adding: "Demi needs a man in her life. She's a very dynamic, very sexual woman, and she has to have a guy around.
"It's not that she's needy. It's just she enjoys being in a healthy, active relationship with someone she loves."
