The 17-year-old defensive back had his pick of scholarships from the Universities of Wyoming, Illinois and Virginia, but decided to take up UCLA's offer to play college football in Los Angeles.
Justin said in a statement: "Today I am truly blessed and thankful to accept my scholarship and give my full commitment to UCLA. Playing division I football was a lifelong dream of mine, and through hard work I was able to achieve it.
"I am a living testament that with a strong relationship with God, family and hard work dreams do come true."
Diddy touted his son Justin's dedication to the sport, saying: "As a parent, today is one of the proudest moments of my life.
"This is everything a father could want for his son, for him to excel at what he loves to do and is truly passionate about."
Justin, whose mother is Diddy's former partner Misa Hylton-Brim, has maintained a 3.75 GPA throughout his high school years.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Diddy has been spotted on a series of public dates with Cameron Diaz.
