George Michael "recovering steadily" from pneumonia

George Michael is "recovering steadily" from his bout of pneumonia, doctors have said.
The 'Careless Whisper' singer was hospitalised in Austria on Monday (November 28) with a "severe" case of the condition and was forced to axe the remaining UK dates of his 'Symphonica' tour.

Medical practitioners announced in a statement that Michael was admitted to intensive care because of the "severity and extension" of the illness and will need a period of "complete rest" to recover.
However, they echoed previous claims from Michael's boyfriend Fadi Fawaz that the star is "getting stronger" every day.
"The latest development in Mr Michael's case, which has evolved from a severe pneumococcal infection, necessitated intensive care due to its severity and extension," Professors Gottfried Locker and Christoph Zielinski said.
"We are happy to announce that Mr Michael is improving steadily with an impressive regression of pneumonic symptoms and follows a steady rate of improvement as hoped.
"There are no other health issues with regards to the patient other than the underlying pneumonic disorder, and no further measures had to be taken."
The pair also dismissed suggestions that Michael had been given special treatment due to his celebrity status.
"Mr Michael is receiving precisely the same treatment as any ordinary patient in Austria would receive at the hospital for this disease," they confirmed.
It was reported that Michael's voice may be damaged during his battle with pneumonia.
