Katy Perry laughs off divorce rumours: 'My life's not a soap opera'

Katy Perry has laughed off rumours that she and husband Russell Brand are splitting up.

Perry was reported by some online news sources to have filed for divorce from Brand on Wednesday, but the story was quickly debunked as a hoax.

The 'One That Got Away' singer appeared amused by the controversy in a Twitter post and even compared herself to All My Children character Erica Kane, who has been married almost a dozen times.

Perry tweeted: "First I'm pregnant & then I'm divorced. What am I All My Children?! Erica Kane… pshhh… If I had a dollar for every time…"

In November, Perry denied that she was pregnant with her and Brand's first child after appearing to show a baby bump in an American Music Awards performance.

Brand and Perry were wed in October 2010 in a private ceremony held in Jaipur, India.
