Lily Allen's ex-boyfriend has denied claims that he cheated on her with her best friend.
DJ Lester Lloyd, who inspired the singer's number one single Smile, dated Lily for 18 months when she was 17.
"I've never cheated on Lily and never would," he told the Sunday Mirror. "I know she's telling everyone that I slept with her best friend, but it's rubbish. I don't even know which friend she means.
"She's a sweet girl and I loved her. I still think she's cool and we still talk. We just fell out of love. We're both still young and it was the first time either of us had been properly in love. Yeah, I suppose we are the loves of each other's lives and it was brilliant while it lasted."
Allen has admitted to Lloyd that Smile describes her feelings over their split. The song includes the lyric: "But you were doing that girl next door, what ja do that for?"
Speaking about meeting up with the star after their break-up, Lester added, "I went round to her house to see the dog we had. We'd spoken a few times and were friendly enough. She told me she had a new song she wanted to play me and put it on her car's CD player. It was Smile.
"I listened to the lyrics and started grinning. I said: 'This is about us, isn't it?' She said it was. The only line that didn't make any sense was 'Doing The Girl Next Door'. The rest was spot-on."
