Piers Morgan apologises for "embarrassing" Patrice O'Neal error

Piers Morgan has apologised for mistakenly referring to the late comedian Patrice O'Neal as a woman on his CNN chatshow.
The Piers Morgan Tonight host referred to O'Neal as though he were female while introducing a tribute to the comic earlier this week.
Speaking of O'Neal's sudden passing, Morgan said: "She died of a stroke today. I want to take a quick look at Patrice on Jimmy Fallon to show everyone just how funny she was."
Morgan has since offered a frank apology for mislabeling O'Neal after being alerted to the error by his Twitter followers.
The interviewer tweeted: "OK, this was embarrassing. And disrespectful. And I'm sorry. I'd never heard of him before, but that's no excuse."
O'Neal passed away on Tuesday (November 29) from complications of a stroke he suffered on October 19.
The stand-up comic was a frequent guest of the Opie and Anthony radio show and had also appeared in Arrested Development, The Office and Furry Vengeance.
