Beyoncé has brushed off "ridiculous" rumours that she is faking her pregnancy.
The 'Countdown' star came under fire after her baby bump appeared to cave in as she sat down for an interview on an Australian talk show in October.
Speculation began afterwards that Beyoncé had enlisted a surrogate mother and was in fact wearing a prosthetic for her TV appearance.
Addressing the rumours with Katie Couric on ABC's 20/20, Beyonce declared: "You know there are certain things that are so far, it doesn't even affect me. I am cool, it is so ridiculous and over the top."
The singer went on to say, however, that her mother was hurt by the accusations.
"She's like 'no one is going to talk about my grand-baby'," she said. "I was like 'calm down mum, it's okay'."
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are expected to welcome their first child together by the end of 2011.
