Charlie Sheen bails ex-wife Brooke Mueller after drug arrest

Charlie Sheen has bailed his ex-wife Brooke Mueller out of a Colorado jail following her arrest for cocaine possession.

The former Two and a Half Men star has been identified as the individual who posted the $11,000 (£7,000) bond that released Mueller this weekend.

According to The Sun, Sheen stepped in to save the 34-year-old after her parents refused to get involved with the case.

Mueller was arrested in Aspen after allegedly being found with 4g of cocaine in her purse. She was charged with possession with intent to supply, for which she could spend up to 10 years in custody.

TMZ claims that Sheen, who separated from Mueller in May, has pledged to take care of their two-year-old twins Bob and Max while the actress gets back to health.

The boys were apparently in Mueller's custody on the night of her arrest, having been left with a nanny as she went clubbing.

Mueller has struggled with illegal substances in the past and this summer checked into an "extreme" rehab centre in Mexico.
