Brooke Mueller 'to escape jail over cocaine arrest'

Brooke Mueller will likely escape a jail sentence following her arrest for drug possession, it has been claimed.

The actress was apprehended in Aspen, Colorado this weekend after being discovered with 4g of cocaine. She was bailed out by ex-husband Charlie Sheen on a $11,000 (£7,000) bond.

TMZ claims that the Pitkin County District Attorney will simply place Muller on probation due to the relatively small amount of cocaine she had, coupled with her technically being classed as a first time offender after a drug arrest in 2001 was dropped.

Mueller could also be placed on deferral, in which case the charge will be dismissed if she keeps to the terms of her probation.

However, Mueller may still face a maximum of six years in jail for the offence.

It was reported yesterday that Sheen will take custody of his and Mueller's 2-year-old twins Bob and Max while she gets back to health.
