Andie MacDowell daughter Rainey Qualley to be Miss Golden Globe 2012

Andie MacDowell's 21-year-old daughter Rainey Qualley has been chosen as Miss Golden Globe 2012.

The Miss Golden Globe honour is traditionally bestowed on the child of celebrities, with the recipient assisting during the annual awards show.

Qualley, an aspiring actress, told reporters at a press conference that she is very honoured to have been chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

She commented: "I would like to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for giving me this wonderful opportunity to serve as Miss Golden Globe 2012.

"I'm really looking forward to being a part of this year's awards presentation."

Qualley follows in the footsteps of Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern's daughter Laura Dern, Kevin Costner's daughter Lily Costner, and Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's child Rumer Willis.

Ricky Gervais will return to host the 69th annual Golden Globes on January 15, 2012 on NBC.
