Jack Black will appear in hit musical Jesus Christ Superstars in a special performance.

Members of the original cast will reunite for the show, which will be staged in Hollywood's Ricardo Montalban Theatre on August 13. Black will take the role of King Herod.

The proceeds of the performance will go to YouTHeatre America, an organisation of which Black was a member.
