Zac Efron donates clothes to underprivileged teens

Zac Efron has donated his old clothes to a charity for underprivileged and homeless teens.

The New Year's Eve actor gave more than 300 items of clothing to the Children's Resource Network of the Central Coast, according to the San Luis Obispo Tribune.

"His gift says a lot," the charity's president and CEO Lisa Ray said.

"It's not only the clothing. It's having something special that other kids wouldn't have access to. It shows them that people do care."

Ray admitted that she did not immediately recognise Efron when he began helping her put the clothes into her car, and that she screamed "like a 13-year-old girl" when she realised who he was.

Special tags will be put in his clothing so that the teenagers who receive them know they were his.

Efron has joked that he is a "kissing machine" after filming romantic scenes with Michelle Pfeiffer in New Year's Eve and Nicole Kidman in The Paperboy.
