Kelly Rowland on love life: 'I have a special friend'

Kelly Rowland has revealed that she does not perform well on dates.

The X Factor judge has said that she likes to be in control of everything, including her romantic life.

"The desire to be in control and decide everything myself as much as possible gets in the way," Rowland told The Mirror.

"The fact that I can act a little bossy has ruined quite a few dates. I choose the restaurant, I open the door myself, sometimes I'll even pay the bill. I really have to learn to let a man be a gentleman.

"That's probably one of the reasons why I'm single. I get in the way of myself when it comes to men."

The singer revealed that she does not mind being single.

"I'm actually single but, you know, you have your little things on the side," she said. "There's nobody I'm dating but I have a special friend."

The former Destiny's Child star previously said that she has "invested" in her own career.

Rowland's last X Factor contestant Amelia Lily became the first of the three finalists to be voted off the show on Saturday.
