Giuliana Rancic: 'I'm scared of surgery pain and recovery'

Giuliana Rancic has confessed that she is fearful about her upcoming surgery.

The Fashion Police star will undergo a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year.

While Rancic has said that she finds scars beautiful, she has since revealed that she is "scared of the unknown" that comes along with such a serious procedure.

"[I'm scared] just of the unknown. I've never been through anything like this. I'm scared of waking up and the pain. I do hear it's a painful recovery, so I worry about that," Rancic told US Weekly.

Rancic, who will undergo the surgery before the end of 2011, said that her decision to have the operation made the most sense, explaining: "It's a great time to do it. I'll be recovering during the holidays. It's kind of quiet, and my family - and of course [my husband] Bill will be with me, so it's great."

Fashion Police co-star Joan Rivers recently spoke out in support for Rancic, saying that she is wanted back on the E! show no matter what.
