Scarlett Johansson: 'Year has had ups and downs'

Scarlett Johansson has said that the past year has had its ups and downs.

The We Bought a Zoo actress confessed that 2011 has been a challenging year, but said that it also had its beautiful moments.

Johansson told Access Hollywood: "I've had ups and downs. Certainly, this past year has [had] a lot of unexpected things in many beautiful ways, many challenging ways."

The actress went on to say that she finds it important not to let her troubles put her off work, explaining: "You just have to kind of embrace it. For me, the most important thing is that it doesn't affect my work and it doesn't affect my private life as much as possible.

"If I could keep that bubble around myself during my work, that is really what's most important for me."

Johansson split from Ryan Reynolds in December 2010 after two years of marriage.

She recently described her marriage to the Green Lantern star as "the best thing [she] ever did".
