The 'U Can't Touch This' rapper - born Stanley Burrell - is said to owe a staggering $779,585 (£499,364) to the US government after failing to file proper returns for several years stemming back to 1996, reports TMZ.
The IRS is said to be asking for all earnings from MC Hammer's concert appearances to be handed over in full in order to begin paying off the owed amount.
The star filed for bankruptcy in 2006 after falling into over $13 million (£8.3 million) debt.
In August, MC Hammer announced plans to launch his own search engine called WireDoo, which he claimed would represent a "deeper type of search".
The star opened a management company in August 2010 for mixed martial artists called Alchemist Management.
