"I left in love, in laughter, and in truth and wherever truth, love and laughter abide, I am there in spirit," was Bill Hicks's final statement, released after his sad death 17 years ago.
His untimely passing at the age of 32 from pancreatic cancer on February 26, 1994 was not only a personal tragedy for his friends and family, but it also put an end to one of the greatest careers of the modern stand-up era.
Only last month, Hicks was named the fourth-best stand-up of all time by Digital Spy readers.
