Justin Bieber has donated $100,000 (£64,524) to children less fortunate than himself at a Las Vegas elementary school.

The 'Mistletoe' popstar partnered with The Ellen DeGeneres Show to raise money for Whitney Elementary School, as 70 percent of the students do not have permanent homes.

The children were treated to a personal visit from Bieber on Friday (December 16). He performed a special holiday concert for their enjoyment. Bieber also took time out to meet with the kids and personally deliver a donation of $100,000.

Fourth grader Kynedi Harris told The AP that Bieber's visit was the highlight of the holiday season for Whitney Elementary School.

"He really came for us. I'm so glad that he really came for us," she beamed.

The school's principal Sherrie Gahn has been a strong advocate for the education of the less fortunate since being hired at the school.

Gahn's work garnered the attention of comedian Ellen DeGeneres, who has vowed to continue raising money for the students of Whitney Elementary.

Highlights from Bieber's concert will air on a future episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Earlier this week, Bieber credited his success to the dedication of his loyal fans, the 'Beliebers'.
