The auction included furniture, artwork and other items from the rented LA mansion where Jackson was living before his death in June 2009.
Fans of the King of Pop were joined by collectors at the sale, which raised more than double the expected amount for the owners of the house.
Among the items sold were a kitchen chalkboard - onto which Jackson's children had written 'I love daddy' - which went for for $5,000 (£3,200).
A wardrobe, on which Jackson had written a message to himself on the mirror, raised a further $25,750 (£16,500), according to the Sunday Mirror.
The headboard from the bed where Jackson died was removed from the auction at the Jackson family's request. The rug from beneath the bed sold for $15,360 (£9,900), despite an estimate of just $400 to $600.
Dr Conrad Murray was recently sentenced to four years in jail after being found guilty of manslaughter.
