Kelly Rowland plans Christmas reunion with dad

Kelly Rowland will visit her ­estranged father over Christmas, it has been reported.

It will be the first time the pair have met for 23 years, after Christopher Lovett left the family home when Rowland was seven.

Lovett announced in July that he wanted to reunite with the X Factor judge and, although she was unhappy about him speaking to the press, Rowland has agreed to meet him.

"He reached out to me saying he wanted to see me, but it's unfortunate he did it so publicly," she said in October. "I want to meet him, and soon, I really do. I forgave him a long time ago."

Speaking from his home in Atlanta, Lovett confirmed the reunion, telling the Sunday Mirror: "This is the best Christmas present any father could dream of.

"When I spoke to the Sunday Mirror I hoped she'd read it and know how I felt. Now it seems she has and might be ready to forgive me."

Rowland had previously spoken of her desire for a Christmas reunion with her father.
