Brand knocked back by 'O.C.' actress

Russell Brand has been turned down by O.C. star Mischa Barton.

The Big Brother's Big Mouth host was at London nightclub Chinawhite recently when he decided to make his move on the actress.

"It was hilarious," one onlooker told the Daily Star. "Russell was with some of his mates and they were all looking over at Mischa and nudging him to go over. And he certainly didn't need much encouragement. He was straight in there, introducing himself.

"Brand told Mischa she looked beautiful and she simply thanked him and turned back to her female friends. That was when Russell made his move. He asked her if she fancied a dance but she blushed shyly and said she was happy talking to her pals and that they were having a girls-only night out."

Barton's friends were apparently forced to intervene after Russell refused to take no for an answer.

The source added, "He said he thought she was deluded for turning him down and then moved onto his next target. He was definitely a man on a mission."
