Kim Kardashian ex Kris Humphries signs with NBA team

Kim Kardashian's estranged husband Kris Humphries has signed a contract extension with the NBA's New Jersey Nets.

The power forward inked a one-year deal on Wednesday (December 21) that will pay him more than $8m (£5m), according to ESPN.

Humphries has said that he is very happy to be remaining with the Nets for a third straight season.

"My outlets in life are God, family and basketball. I'm happy to have basketball back. I feel like I'm home, man," the athlete told reporters.

Humphries also touched on the role his divorce proceedings from Kardashian have had on his basketball career.

"Life just happens… I'm a positive thinker," he said. "In life I always look at the things that I can control, which is being ready and working on my game."

Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries on October 31, less than three months after they married at a star-studded Montecito ceremony.

Humphries spoke about his split from Kardashian in a recent Good Morning Appearance chat, saying: "Through everything I'm just focused on family and preparing for basketball."

It was later reported that Humphries was 'livid' that Good Morning America's co-hosts asked so many questions about the break-up of his marriage.
