The star announced in August that he was seriously considering a run for New York City mayor once his 30 Rock contract expired.
However, on Wednesday the actor revealed on his radio show that he will not be throwing his hat into the race after all.
"Here's the thing," Baldwin said. "I've lost my appetite."
"They're all just so horny for it," he said of the possible candidates. "Horny for their own ascension. Whereas for me, I've got a job now. I've got a good job."
He continued: "Am I doing To Kill a Mockingbird? No, I'm doing a sitcom. But we have fun, and it's a family and I love New York and I've got a life, it's been a great harbour for me in my life."
Earlier this month, Baldwin was kicked off an American Airlines flight in a dispute over the iPhone application Words with Friends.
