Mel Gibson finalises divorce from wife

Mel Gibson's divorce from former wife Robyn Moore was finalised yesterday.

The couple split in 2006 and Moore initially filed for divorce three years later after learning that Gibson's then girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva was pregnant.

The pair, who got married in 1980, are said to have an estimated net worth of $900m (£577m), although sources tell TMZ that the amount could be less.

They have seven children together, but only their 12-year-old son was subject to a custody agreement since he is a minor.

Los Angeles Superior Court judge Mark Juhas signed the divorce decree on Friday (December 23), ensuring all details of the split remain confidential.

The couple had no pre-nuptial agreement, and had been negotiating a deal for over a year. Californian law states that all assets accrued during their marriage must be divided equally.

Gibson agreed to pay Grigorieva $750,000 (£481,139) in August following a custody battle over their daughter Lucia.
