Singer Dido welcomes baby son Stanley

Dido has given birth to her first child, it has been announced.

The singer welcomed son Stanley back in July at the Portland Hospital in central London, and the news has only just been revealed in the press.

Dido had Stanley with husband Rohan Gavin, who she married last year, according to the Daily Mail.

Dido, who cancelled a planned appearance at this year's Oscars after discovering her pregnancy, recently admitted that her career goals had changed since finding out she was to become a mum.

"There's a real calmness about it which I think is really nice. Your decisions are sort of made for you," she said.

"You just have this priority that is unchangeable and I think that's a great calmness that comes from that."

Dido, who celebrates her 40th birthday on Christmas Day, released her last album Safe Trip Home back in 2008.
