Buckingham Palace said that the Duke of Edinburgh remains in "good spirits", but will continue to recover from heart surgery at Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire.
"The Duke is in good spirits and will remain in hospital under observation for a short period," a royal spokesman said in a statement.
"The Queen will continue to be briefed on his condition. We do not have details of a release date at this stage."
The 90-year-old was taken to the NHS hospital on December 23 before undergoing successful surgery the same evening.
Under local anaesthetic, the operation relieved a blockage in his coronary artery.
The Queen, his four children and six of his grandchildren have visited him during his stay.
