Bodolai's body was discovered by cleaners on Sunday (December 26) and police sources have told TMZ that they believe he committed suicide.
The law enforcement insiders said that antifreeze and Gatorade were found near his bedside.
Bodolai posted a blog titled 'If This Was Your Last Day Alive What Would You Do' on Friday (December 23), where he wrote of his hopes for the future and things he wished he had done differently in his life.
He listed among his regrets his "inability to conquer [his] alcoholism" and "the things [he] did because of it".
The writer included among his accomplishments "writing the first draft of Wayne's World with Mike Myers".
Bodolai began writing on Saturday Night Live in the early 1980s and later went on to produce The Kids in the Hall.
He also served as executive producer on the series Comics! and worked on After Hours.
