Rapper Heavy D died of blood clot in lung, says coroner

Heavy D's cause of death has been revealed.

The rapper, born Dwight Arrington Myers, passed away suddenly on November 8 after complaining of having difficulty breathing.

He collapsed outside his Beverly Hills home and was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to hospital.

The coroner's office has now released the official cause of death, revealing that Heavy D died of a blood clot in the lung. The clot likely developed over the course of a long plane flight.

The rapper also suffered from heart disease and deep leg vein thrombosis.

Heavy D's funeral was held at a famous New York City church last month.

The rapper performed at the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Wales on October 8.
