Ricky Martin beats Perez Hilton, Elton John as 'Most Googled Gay 2011'

Ricky Martin was the most searched-for gay celebrity on Google in 2011.
Gay and lesbian publication The Advocate released its '2011 Most Googled Gays and Lesbians' list last week, revealing which stars pulled in the most internet hits.


Martin topped the list, with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and singer Sir Elton John close behind. Designer Marc Jacobs and singer Adam Lambert came in fourth and fifth places respectively.
Also in the top ten were Ellen DeGeneres, George Michael, How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris, designer Alexander McQueen and activist Dan Choi.
Glee stars Jane Lynch and Chris Colfer also made the list, along with Star Trek's Zachary Quinto, TV host and author Suze Orman, DeGeneres's wife and Arrested Development actress Portia de Rossi, and designer Nate Berkus, all of whom found themselves in the Top 20.


TV host Rachel Maddow, former Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels, RuPaul and designer Tom Ford also made the cut.
