Mickey Rooney reportedly suffered a fall at his home California during Christmas.

The veteran actor spent most of the festive period recovering from the accident, which left him with a cut to his head, according to The Globe.

The 91-year-old is said to have taken a fall at his Westlake Village home on December 7, before being taken to Westlake Urgent Care, where he received stitches.

"The head wound was so deep that Mickey had to have it stitched up," a source said. "He also had bruises on his legs and other parts of his body."

Mickey Rooney sued his stepson Christopher Aber for fraud and elder abuse in September.

He was granted a restraining order against Aber earlier in the year for "withholding food and medicine" and "meddling in his personal finances".
