Kid Cudi "broke down" over death of fan Ben Breedlove

Kid Cudi has confessed that he "broke down" upon hearing of the death of one of his fans.

The rapper heard about 18-year-old Ben Breedlove after the teen posted a pair of viral YouTube videos about living with a serious heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

In the videos, Breedlove names Cudi as his favourite artist and also revealed that he "cheated death" three times after experiencing complications from the disorder. He later passed away on Christmas Day after suffering from a fatal heart attack.



Kid Cudi wrote on his official blog: "I am so sad about Ben Breedlove. I watched the video he left for the world to see, and him seeing me in detail, in his vision really warmed my heart. I broke down, I am to (sic) tears because I hate how life is so unfair.

"This has really touched my heart in a way I cant describe, this is why I do what I do. Why I write my life, and why I love you all so much. Life is really f**ked up sometimes, but I know Ben is at Peace, and I hope he gets a chance to sit and talk with my Dad. We love you Ben. Forever. Thank you for loving me. To Ben's family, you raised a real hero, he's definately mine. You have my love."

Kid Cudi has previously said that he considers his fans to be his friends as they are responsible for his successful career.
