Mo'Nique 'sues landlord over foul smell'

Mo'Nique has filed a lawsuit against her landlord over a foul smell in the house.

The Precious actress has demanded the cancellation of a $22,000 (£14,200) per month rental lease over the Georgia property, claiming that it smells like dog faeces and urine, and also has an overflowing septic tank which remains unfixed.

In documents obtained by TMZ, Mo'Nique further claimed that the security gate at the house was broken and that the house is full of mould.

According to the suit, Mo'Nique insisted that she was given a verbal promise by the landlords that she could pull out of the lease within 60 days of moving in without penalty because of the above problems.

However, the landlords filed their own claim in Fulton County last week, accusing her of trying to dodge her two-year lease agreement and asking for the $370,000 (£238,000) they say that she owes in unpaid rent.

Reps for the star have not responded to calls for comment.
