Nick Cannon recovering from "mild" kidney failure, says Mariah Carey

Nick Cannon is recovering from "mild" kidney failure, according to his wife Mariah Carey.

The America's Got Talent host apparently fell ill on the couple's holiday trip to Aspen, CO and was rushed to a local hospital.

Carey first revealed her husband's illness on Wednesday in a tweet: "Please pray for Nick as he's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure."

She later updated her fans that Cannon was feeling better after being treated by doctors, but the couple will not be able to leave Aspen right away.

Carey wrote on her personal website: "We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful.

"We're doing OK but we're "straaaaaanded in Aspen". #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we're together, we're OK. I'm not trying to make light out of the situation because it's a serious moment that's very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers."

The singer also posted a picture of her laying with Cannon in his hospital bed.

Carey gave birth to her and Cannon's twins, Moroccan and Monroe, in April 2011.
