Alec Baldwin has been dropped as an advertising spokesman for a New York grocery chain in the wake of his recent airplane controversy.
Wegmans Food Markets has pulled a television advert featuring the 30 Rock star after receiving several customer complaints, reports The AP.

Some consumers apparently were angry over reports that Baldwin refused to turn off his phone prior to an American Airlines flight to Los Angeles on December 6.
Baldwin was subsequently ejected from the flight and later railed against the airline in a series of Twitter posts.
The actor also mocked the incident on Saturday Night Live, where he played a fictional American Airlines pilot offering an apology for the altercation.
Baldwin's advertisements for Wegmans Food Markets debuted for the holiday season, but were taken off the air a week early to appease the complaining customers.
The star was apparently hired by the grocery chain after mentioning in an interview that his mother shopped in its stores.
In the days following his airplane controversy, it was reported that American Airlines was considering removing 30 Rock from its in-flight television service.
30 Rock premieres its new season on Thursday, January 12 at 8/7c on NBC.
